We are a Great Commission church, fulfilling the command to make disciples in line with Jesus’ words in

Matthew 28:18-20.

To properly make disciples, we are focused on four priorities:

Worship, Grow, Serve, and Share.

Our desire is for each member to embrace these priorities as a life focus.

Worship
Worship can be defined as our response to the reality of God. While it involves our weekly worship service, we strive for worship to be a lifestyle. The old English word was “worthship,” which reminds us that our worship is about declaring the worth of God, that He is worthy of our worship. As we walk with the Lord daily and encounter Him in His word, our circumstances, a memory, or any other experience, then when we declare His worth, we are fulfilling the priority of worship.

Grow
Spiritual growth is a Scriptural expectation for all believers. We strive to “meet people where they are and help them get where they need to be.” This occurs informally through personal relationships within the church, with a strategic focus placed upon spiritual growth in Sunday School and Small Groups, as well as Awana for our children.

Serve
Jesus spoke about Himself and said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve” (Mark 10:45). We believe that every member of the church should use their spiritual gifts and serve through the church. We serve together through our quarterly “I Love Yazoo” Days, where we disperse to meet needs within our community.

Share
Since we believe that each person must make a decision to follow Jesus, we must be proactive in sharing the Gospel, “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). This involves us sharing in our community, but also through missions. We also must be good stewards of what God has given us and are willing to share of our resources, gifts, experiences, and story.
